Scanners and Document Management
Scan2Net - Image Access large format scanner Software
Image Access WideTEK large format scanners set new standards in quality and performance. These very fast high resolution colour scanners combine user friendly operation, production ready design and compact dimensions in a new class of scanners.
The scanner is connected directly to the users' network and is operated using any web browser. This gives it complete operating system independence so it can be used with MS Windows PC, Apple Macs, Unix, Linux, etc.
Scan2Net technology forms the basis of the of the scanning solutions from Image Access. Scanners operating with this technology require only a network connection and can be operated using any web browser, completely independent of the operating system.
Scan2Net technology utilises an HTML based user interface to enable
-
simple network integration of the scanner
-
real time display of the scanned images
-
easy installation of software updates
-
installation of software options
The operation is simple and intuitive. It begins with easy network integration of the scanner: no driver installation, no add-in cards. After an IP address has been assigned the scanner is ready for use by any user on the network. The menu structure, divided into five major functional areas, will lead you quickly and easily to the desired result. Select the format and document structure, choose an output and colour mode, then press the start button and scan. All parameters are configurable using only a few clear menu selections. For first time users, scanner operation becomes routine very quickly.
Software Options
A number of software options are available to increase the functionality of Scan2Net: Scan2VGA, Scan2USB, Scan2PDF, Scan2ICC, Scan2Edit, Scan2iPF and BatchScanWizard. These software options can be enabled by software licence key.
-
Connect a monitor to the scanner
-
No client PC is required
-
Operation of the scanner via touch screen
-
Post-scan modification of the images - without rescanning, simply by changing scan parameters
All
WideTEK scanners with a touch screen support the function Scan2VGA.
With this option, a VGA monitor can be directly connected to the
scanner. The scanned image is displayed on the VGA monitor - a fully
standalone solution without the need for a client PC.
After scanning the user can modify scan parameters such as
brightness, sharpness, gamma and contrast as well as the colour mode
and can rotate the image or mirror it. The changed parameters in the
scanned image are immediately displayed on the monitor. The operator
does not need to rescan the document.
All parameter changes will be saved for subsequent scans. This saves
time considerably, especially if large scan quantities with the same
scan parameters should be managed.
-
Save scanned images directly to a USB memory device
-
Use of the scanner without a client PC
-
Scanner operation via touch screen
-
Flexibility using mobile storage media
Walk-up scanning is an important feature of all WideTEK scanners which have
a touch screen. The operator can send scanned images from the
scanner to a specific destination such as a network printer or any
directory in the network. Or the user saves data on a USB stick
inserted in the scanner.
WideTEK scanners are fitted with a USB port to connect with an
external storage medium (USB stick or USB drive). Using the software
option Scan2USB the operator saves scanned images directly to the
USB storage medium.
No client PC is required - the user operates the scanner via the
integrated touch screen.
-
Creates PDF files directly in the scanner
-
Format PDF/A for long-term archived storage
-
Metadata and key words for simple archiving and classification
The PDF generator adds PDF/A output to the list of supported formats. After
the software installation, the scanner internally creates the PDF/A
files. The operator simply chooses PDF in the list of available
formats in the menu area “Features”.
The documents will automatically be saved in PDF/A format. This
internationally accepted standard for long-term archiving guarantees
preservation of the visual appearance of document images,
independent of the device or software version or the art of
reproduction. This transparent and versatile data format offers long
lasting, non-editable and universal readability.
Note; PDF/A is a subset of PDF that is designed for long-term archiving of information. It embeds the colour profile in a machine-independent manner. It omits features not suitable for long-term archiving.
-
Individual ICC profile for every Scan2Net® scanner
-
True colour output for scanning and printing
-
Clear and simple operation
-
Cost efficient subscription
Scan2ICC is an online tool for creating an individual ICC profile for a
Scan2Net® scanner. This online service offers customers a simple and
cost efficient alternative to procuring complicated and expensive
third party software. An individual ICC profile can be generated
online and stored for each individual Scan2Net® scanner.
By downloading a small application from the Image Access Customer
Service Portal, your individual ICC profile can be made available to
the scanner in only a few simple steps. The operator can repeat the
process as often as necessary (for example when ambient light
characteristics have changed). Simply rescan the IT8 Scanner
Calibration Target included in the package and the recalculated ICC
profile can be saved to the scanner.
-
Direct export to a preferred graphics application without any additional driver software
-
Modifies images without rescanning - simply by changing selected scan parameters
-
Compatible with all common graphics applications
Using the Scan2EDIT software, the operator exports the scanned images directly
into the preferred image enhancement or graphics software
applications (such as Adobe Photoshop, Corel Draw, Omnipage, etc.).
Click through the tabbed parameter pages to set all scanning
parameters and preferences. It's just as simple to select the
preferred application to which you will scan.
Scanning of the source materials directly into the preferred
graphics application saves user's time. Automatically saving
documents in a predefined network location increases document
throughput. Additionally, Scan2Edit enables users to modify the
scanned image without rescanning, simply by changing selected scan
parameters.
-
Automated scanning of high volume source documents
-
Easy configuration with templates
-
Hotkeys - frequently used operations at the press of a key
-
ScanTool - free choice of image sections
-
Variable page splitting
-
Time saving, high data throughput
The Batch Scan Wizard enables the user to automate scanning large quantities of documents. The software expedites the data throughput and reduces operational tasks substantially. A batch is started either using the foot switch or the user interface of the Batch Scan Wizard. The operator creates jobs and configures templates. In addition to the standard scan parameters like brightness, contrast, color mode or file format; the Batch Scan Wizard offers further functions. ScanTool enables operators to predefine specific areas of a document to extract, scan and save them as separate images. A previously scanned document can be modified and the resulting image quality improved without having to rescan.
-

-
Scan at 8.5 inches per second (12.7 m/min), matches fastest printer output
-
1200 x 600 dpi true optical resolution delivers outstanding image quality
-
Perfect for production in reprographics, facilities management
The WideTEK Scan to Canon iPF Printer Profile allows users the ability to print/copy directly to the Canon iPF printer of choice, to include the 650, 655, 750 and 755 printers. Now users can have a robust, productive multifunction system with scanning speeds more aptly suited for the output capabilities of the iPF series.
