M-Files is an easy to use, professional document management software application that can be customized and extended for a variety of applications and industries.

In addition to setting up users and user groups with user-defined access permissions, customizing the M-Files vault with documents and other object types particular to your business, setting up custom workflows and connecting M-Files to various external sources such as existing databases such as email servers, scanners for capturing paper documents and billing, CRM and ERP systems, M-Files provides a rich API for customizing and extending the system even further.

M-Files SharePoint WebPart
According to Forrester Research, Microsoft estimates they have sold over 100 million seats of Microsoft Office SharePoint Server. One of the reasons for this success is the perceived ease of implementation of a web-centric solution. What often happens is that since the IT department is a key driver in the choice and implementation of a document management or collaboration solution, the end goal of the implementation -- to improve the organization and management of company documents and information -- can end up taking a back seat to the perceived ease of implementation which is obviously near and dear to IT.

SharePoint alone is great as a collaboration portal, and well-suited for “document consumers” accessing content via Intranets and extranets, but M-Files adds vital capabilities for document creators to provide seamless management of in-process work, fast local performance and reliability even when the server crashes, the network is slow, or the server is unavailable such as when travelling.

M-Files eCopy Connector
Whether it is processing faxed purchase orders, hard copies of shipping receipts, legal forms requiring signatures, or any of a variety of other common examples, managing paper documents is a critical part of business for many organizations. M-Files provides multiple ways to automate the process of converting paper documents into electronic form, such as a PDF file or bitmap image, and then depositing it into an M-Files vault and categorizing it with descriptive properties or “metadata” so it can be efficiently located, tracked and, if necessary, linked to other related documents. For instance, linking a scanned image of a receipt to the searchable text document generated with optical character recognition (OCR) software during the scanning process. In addition, to M-Files built-in capabilities for managing paper documents, we now have an integrated solution with the premier solution on the market: eCopy.

The new M-Files eCopy Connector, seamlessly integrates M-Files with the popular eCopy ShareScan and ScanStation solution to allow scanned documents to be saved in M-Files with associated metadata in one step during the scanning phase, right at the multi-function scanner/printer/copier/fax (MFP). The M-Files metadata card is directly and immediately visible right at the MFP’s display or touch screen. ID-recognition is also supported so that a signed contract can be automatically attached an original contract template saved in M-Files based identification of the contract’s signature. eCopy also supports a host of other useful features including touch-up of scanned documents, bar code support, and more.

M-Files CRM
M-Files CRM is an easy-to-use and versatile application for managing customer and contact information.  The application allows you to enhance and monitor the sale processes with their campaign data. On the basis of different search criteria, you can also print contact information lists, such as address labels or email address lists.

M-Files OCR (Optical Character Recognition)
 Based on the popular I.R.I.S. OCR technology, the M-Files OCR module provides extensive support for connecting M-Files directly to scanners and eliminates the need for additional third-party scanning and OCR software. M-Files OCR interfaces directly with virtually any scanner to produce searchable PDF files from paper documents. M-Files OCR also provides "ID-based" scanning for automating tasks such as file naming, defining properties and metadata, initiating workflows, and processing a signed contract based on identification of the contract's signature.
 

MFExport - M-Files Export Utility
MFExport provides a highly configurable utility for exporting documents and their associated metadata from an M-Files vault. Document can be exported as standard files in the format of the application with which they were created and the associated metadata can be saved as a CSV and/or XML file. This enables the users to re-use their M-Files documents in other systems, or create backups of documents in a storage format independent of M-Files.
 
M-Files Publishing Portal

M-Files Publishing Portal provides an easy-to-use and secure interface for publishing M-Files documents over the Internet for your stakeholders.

M-Files administrator can define which user may create new Publishing Portal accounts.  New accounts are created with M-Files Client and may have an expiration date. Documents, either the latest or a specific version, are then published to the portal’s users.  The published documents can be grouped into folders.  The user interface is very simple.  After logging in,  the user can see only the documents published to them, either singly or in folders if so specified.

Publishing Portal allows you to share specific documents with a selected group of colleagues.  This could be sharing files with a project group or publishing course materials to a group of students
